This error message:
Windows: no disk - Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c started to appear in April 2007 after some Windows update patch. This is caused by the way windows treats removable drives like USB card readers or ZIP drives and how it does error reporting. It's also can be considered as an indication of flaw in design of some programs. It appears that many programs are looking for the files that are not present on the system and that they don't really need. But to locate them, they are trying to look in ALL drives on the system. First they look in C:\, then in D:\, E:\ and so on. And when they reach first removable drive that has no media in it, Windows and NOT the program gives this message. This message is 21-st century equivalent of good old "Abort, Retry, Ignore" in DOS. Solutions: 1. You can try to change the drive letters of removable drives, so there will be a gap between your hard drives and removable drives using Disk Management. It was said on some sites that it works, but I don't know why. 2. Simply change the way Windows is reporting hard errors and disable dialog boxes associated with them. See THIS Microsoft article for details. Or simply set registry value HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\ErrorMode = 2 -------------------- ![]() |
